Let's say your date of birth is 26th March 1987
So the password to open your 26AS will be 26031987. Which is your date of birth without any slashes.

Don't use "/" in between and make sure that you are entering the correct date

ReplyDeleteAfter opening the password protected Form 26as in pdf form by your date of birth in ddmmyyyy format as password, in order to printout this I used the following steps:
Delete1. Take screenshot of each page as available in the screen, by selecting "take screenshot" option available in file. In my apple computer, I have the
following three options in the "Take Screenshot"
a) select from screen
b) select window
c) select entire screen
I used "select window" option, which selected that page in light blue colour and asked to use the camera appeared in the middle. When I press the "enter" button, that page was photographed.
2. Then from the same file option, I used the "Print" command, which open the printer window, using which I was able to print that page.
3. I repeated the first 2 steps, for each page, and printed all four pages of Form 26as in pdf form, in five pages with some adjustments needed needed in covering the data continuously.

ReplyDeleteBut here is the catch - if the date of birth doesn't work, try your PAN card number in all lower case or all upper case.
The TDS documents directly downloaded from the TDS website opened with date of birth, but those received some from the bank via email, could be opened with lowercase PAN number.
After opening it in the PDF reader I'm able to print it without the need for the password again.
BTW, TDS has sensitive information and all the people who need to view it - you, someone helping you and your tax adviser - will already have your DoB and PAN card number anyway. So I don't see the need to remove the password and make it less secure, although it is possible.
